Waldorf aan de Werf is a new intercultural primary school in Amsterdam North. It is a place where every child feels safe and seen and where inclusive thinking is central. We offer this on a solid foundation of Waldorf education.

Waldorf aan de Werf was born out of a citizens’ initiative in Amsterdam Noord. In the meantime we have found shelter at the Geert Groote School and we will start under their administratio

The moving class

One of the most physically visible developments in Waldorf education is the so-called ‘moving class’. The children no longer sit on a chair at a table, but they use pillows and sofas as furniture in the classroom. The moving class is a concept for class design that was first used by the Swedish teacher Pår Ahlbom. Read on.

Waldorf aan de Werf started in August 2020 in a building near the Wespennest on the Werengouw 85. It is a beautiful building and perfect for our first 3 classes. The final location of Waldorf aan de Werf will be built in new buildings on the Klaprozenweg. The plans for this district look beautiful, so we are proud to be a part of that with our school!
